What is People-People?
What is People-People? People-People is the genre of abstract crowd scenes that the painter Pascal Cucaro invented. He developed it in San Francisco, during the Beat years of North Beach. Cucaro called these his "People-People" paintings. On this site they are also described as abstract figuretism: crowds that sit right on the edge between abstraction and recognition. What you see in a People-People work At first you see color, texture and motion. Then a hat appears. A face.
